After attaining his basic medical degree in 1991, Dr Jayant Thorat went on to complete postgraduate general surgical and neurosurgical training in India. He was conferred Master of Surgery (MS) from Christian Medical College Ludhiana and subsequently MCh (Neurosurgery) from Mumbai University. After his neurosurgery fellowship stints in Japan and Singapore in 2003, he decided to settle down on this sunny island.
Over the next two decades, Dr Jayant became a familiar face in the wards and operating theatres of various public institutions in Singapore - National Neuroscience Institute (NNI) @ both TTSH and SGH campuses, Alexandra and National University Hospitals. He had been deeply involved in the technical training of neurosurgical residents, published in acclaimed journals and presented at international neurosurgical conferences.
Dr Jayant endeavours to bring his professional experience to serve the community here. He enjoys nature, photography, reading and travelling for medical charity work in developing countries.
